Tragically last night around 6pm, a 16-year-old boy was shot in the head while sitting in the back of an SUV in the 5800 block of Tichy.

The suspect fled the SUV, but the driver took the victim to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Detectives identified and contacted the suspect at his residence a short time later.

After extensive interviews with everyone in the vehicle, the suspect— a juvenile male— was booked into the Prairie Vista Juvenile Detention Center for Second Degree Murder and Minor in Possession of a Handgun charges.
